Mahindra XUV 500 2020 Review

Domestic automobile company Mahindra and Mahindra is constantly updating its vehicles as per the new BS6 fuel standards. BS6 fuel standards have come into force from April 1 across the country. Therefore, now auto companies have stopped producing models with BS4 engine. Mahindra is also updating its SUV XUV500 to BS6 fuel standards. But before the official launch, all the information about its variants, features and specifications has been revealed. In the BS6 Mahindra XUV500, the company has discontinued the entry-level variant W3 found in the BS4 model, just like the updated Scorpio. The new BS6 XUV500 will be available in four variants W5, W7, W9 and W11 (O).

Power:

 The old Mahindra XUV500 used to get a 2.2-liter mHawk diesel engine with the older BS4 model, though it will now be upgraded to BS6 fuel standards. This new engine produces 153bhp power at 3750rpm and 360Nm torque at 1750rpm-2800rpm. It will also get 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic gearbox options. The BS6 Mahindra XUV500 will now be available only in front-wheel-drive systems.  Because the entry-level W3 variants that come with the all-wheel-drive system have been discontinued by the company.

W5 features
 The entry-level variant of the BS6 XUV500 has a 15-cm infotainment system with Bluetooth connectivity. The SUV will get silver grille inserts, projector headlamps, roof rails, power adjustable out side rear view mirrors, chrome scuff plates, full wheel cap, twin exhaust, black-gray interior, electrically operated dual HVC, 6 side adjustable driver seat. Apart from these, features like dual front airbags, speed alert, seat belt reminder, dual immobilizer, ABS, EBD, reverse parking sensors, tilt power steering, flip-key with remote, and micro hybrid technology have been given in this variant.

W7 features
 The W7 variant of the BS6 XUV500 features LED DRL, glass embedded antenna, rain sensing wipers, tan-black interior, chrome grille inserts and silver foglamp bezels. Along with this, it will get features like 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto, Mahindra Blue Sense app, voice messaging system, voice command and SMS readout and inbuilt compass.

 Apart from this, this variant includes passive key-entry, push button start-stop, smart watch connectivity, automatic temperature control, electronic steering lock, smart-key with remote, entry assist lamp, emergency call, steering mounted control and cruise control features are present. The automatic variant will also get ESP feature with rollover mitigation. At the same time, only manual variants will get Hill Hold and Decent Control, Micro Hybrid Technology and EcoSense features.

W9 Features
 The W9 variants of the BS6 XUV500 include front fog lamps, 17-inch alloy wheels, electric sunroof with anti-pitch, power foldable out side rear view mirrors, 8 side manual adjustable driver seat, telescopic steering, tire-tronics, driver side door ajar. There are features like ESP with lamps, hill hold and descent control and rollover mitigation.  EcoSense and micro hybrid technology will be available only in manual variants.

W11 (O) Features
 The top variant W11 (O) of the BS6 XUV500 features soft-touch leather on the dashboard and door trims, 6 side electrically adjustable driver seat, cut leather, apple carplay, glove box with laptop holder, door ajer lamp, camping lamp, puddle lamp,  Connected apps and side and curtain airbags will be available.  Brake energy regeneration and micro hybrid technology are also given only in manual variants.

Launch
 Countrywide lockdown continues due to Covid 19 (Coronavirus) outbreak. After the lockdown is over, the company will schedule for launch of its powerful BS6 Mahindra XUV500.
